Soft gelatine or soft gel capsule is a solid capsule that surrounds a liquid center. It is considered as an oral dosage form for medicine which is considered similar to capsules. These capsules are a combination of water,gelatine, opacifier, and a plasticizer, for instance, sorbitol or glycerin. Softgel capsules are produced from single gelatine, not two pieces combined together. These capsules are formed for solutions other than water as it would dissolve the gelatine. Soft gelatin capsules or also known as soft gels are becoming a popular dosage form for the administration of liquids, suspensions, pastes, and dry powders in the dietary supplement industry.
